Review of Furano FUR-DRS6A 64 Mile 6 Kilowatt Radar Pedestal

This is the latest review of the New Furano Radar from Amazon: Amazon Verified Purchase I bought a DRS-6A along with the PSU012 power supply and MFD8 display, all from Amazon. Overall, I am happy with the result. There were some problems with the shipment, which Amazon fixed within 2 weeks. We also had a problem with the power supply, but Furuno technical support solved that in one day. We bought this for some lab experiments, not for actual marine use, so I cannot rate the actual radar function. But the transmitter worked as specified and did everything we needed. This seems to be a good product and it is supported well by Furuno, but it is complex and you should be prepared to overcome some minor difficulties. FURUNO has taken its NMEA award-winning radar technology to the next level with Ultra High Definition Digital Radar. UHD offers crystal clear, noise-free target presentation with automatic real-time digital signal processing. Antenna rotation speed (24/36/48 rpm) is automatically shifted to the appropriate pulse length. Commercial-grade radar performance is now available in the ultimate MFD navigation suite. The Radar is housed in a rugged cast aluminum pedestal, is supplied with a 4' open array, produces 6KW of power, and has a range of 64 nautical miles.
